Extensive refurbishment, alteration and fit-out of a former franchise to create a Volkswagen main dealer franchise.

Works included the creation of a state-of-the-art showroom for the display of up to 14 vehicles. The existing showroom was extensively refurbished to comply with Volkswagen’s latest corporate identity including new lighting, power/data installations, air conditioning, new finishes, furniture and signage. The back of house facilities also received attention including a full workshop fit-out to accommodate 7 service ramps together with the refurbishment of office and parts areas.

The project was delivered on a fast-track basis to make full use of a rent free period offered by the landlord.

In addition to management of the upgrade works, Rekan also provided tenant/landlord advice to assist with the lease acquisition including the preparation of a full schedule of condition together with a licence to alter. The works were undertaken for both the landlord and tenant, requiring careful management of the budget and funding allocations/reporting.
