Project Brown Marmorated Stink Bug (BMSB)

In response to the rapid expansion of Brown marmorated stink bug (BMSB) throughout Europe and North America, both Australia and New Zealand has strengthened the measures to manage the risk of BMSB from arriving into their respective countries.  In response to this Wallenius Wilhelmsen Solutions UK commissioned the design and construction of a bespoke screening facility within Southampton Docks to remove any potential brown marmorated stink bugs from vehicles prior to exporting.  

The project involved the construction of a prefabricated screening tunnel complete with bespoke screening plant to remove any risk of the BMSB during the high-risk season of September to May.
